Growing up in an international environment, Ani Corné lived for several years in the USA, Great Britain, France and Italy. She speaks four languages (German, English, French and Italian). During her 12-year stay in Italy, she was, among other things, the founder (2002) and until 2005 editor-in-chief of "Online Writers Against War", an international Internet portal in which journalists and authors from all over the world had joined forces to oppose the violation of international law when the USA invaded Iraq. During this time, she wrote as a guest journalist (2004 - 2006) for the English magazine "Underground Focus" in London. 2013, she returned from Italy to her country of birth and has been living in the countryside in southern Germany ever since. In recent years, she focused more on writing poetry and novels than on journalistic work, but still expresses herself in occasional online articles on international politics.
Ani Corné is also a committed environmental and human rights activist. A few years ago, she started her latest humanitarian project "Interviewed by Friends", a long-term commitment to combat the increasing xenophobia and the prejudices against other cultures that still exist. The aim of the project is to revive the "good old-fashioned" way of debating and to return to a culture of discussion that advocates that each interlocutor is given time to think about a question before being immediately interrupted with the opposing opinion or, worse, insulted or slandered.
