What must have happened for someone to take such a 180 degree turn in his moral and political convictions?

During the 2016 election campaign and shortly after Donald J. Trump took office as 45th U.S. President, Senator Lindsey Graham had been a blunt critic of Trump.

Then came the unexpected U-turn. After the death of Graham's friend Senator John McCain, Graham was suddenly seen more and more around Donald Trump. It was hard to believe that Graham would seek the proximity of the very man he previously had declared to be the death of the Republican Party.

The following CNN video shows the former critic Lindsey Graham; one who doesn't hide his contempt for Donald Trump in the slightest and finds clear words for his racism and xenophobia.

Today, Senator Graham is one of Trump's most ardent supporters and his most loyal sycophant. The question of why Graham changed so radically might have an extremely explosive answer.
